Whatever the occasion, The Grumpy Troll is the perfect spot to meet friends, family and business associates for a fun and relaxing get together. The historic Mount Horeb Creamery building, built in 1916, was transformed into a restaurant and brewery in 1996. The Grumpy features a full lunch and full dinner menu including lunch and dinner specials prepared by our chef. Our on site brewery, operated by our award winning Brewmaster Mark “"The Captain"” Duchow features up to twelve beers on tap spanning all tastes and styles. Our beer menu changes regularly and can be viewed on our website under “beer menu”. We offer brewery tours free of charge. Our beautifully appointed main dining room features a full bar and we have another full bar on the upper level. Both locations feature big screen TV’'s for sports viewing; upstairs we also have shuffleboard, English style steel tipped darts, and video games. The upstairs is accessible by stairs or elevator and has its own rest room facilities. We also have an outdoor hop garden adjacent to the main dining room where you can sit and enjoy one of our award winning beers.

  • Smoke free indoor dining/tasting room. Shirts, hats, glasses and mugs for sale. Growlers, 1/6th barrel and & 1/2 barrels of beer to go. Located in the heart of downtown Mount Horeb and just off the Military Ridge Bike Trail.
